Fue el equipo del ‘Ponchito’ que comenzó a complicar a los ‘Albos’ desde el primer minuto sobre el arco de Domínguez con jugadas de Pita y Briones para Barreiro.
Por su parte, Liga le apostó a los tiros de media distancia con José Francisco Cevallos. Poco a poco fue tomando el control del medio campo sin tener presión en los metros finales.
A los 37 minutos luego de un tiro de esquina Cristian Cellay ejecutó una sensacional chilena dentro del área que venció la resistencia del golero Alexander Domínguez, marcando el 1-0 para sorpresa de los blancos, culminando la primera parte con la ventaja para Mushuc Runa.
Para el segundo tiempo Liga salió en busca del empate controlando el balón con jugadas y tiros de media y larga distancia que encontraron bien ubicados a la zaga y golero del ‘Ponchito’.
A los 57 minutos Cristian Cellay cometió una falta sobre Hólger Matamoros dentro del área que el árbitro decretó tiro penal. Al cobro fue Jonathan Álvez que con potente disparo venció al
golero Fernández para escribir el 1-1.
Con el gol los ‘Albos’ dominaron el partido en busca de la segunda anotación que no llegó por el buen cierre de líneas del conjunto visitante.
El tiempo pasó y la pitada final se escuchó terminando el marcador igualado 1-1 con lo que Liga perdió la punta en la segunda etapa y Mushuc Runa cosechó su séptimo partido sin perder consiguiendo un valioso punto que le permite alejarse del fantasma del descenso. (D)
